Let's chat about the benefits (and drawbacks) of online shopping.
Shop the look on my Liketoknowit
There is something so satisfying about throwing on my yoga pants and pouring a glass of wine...oh and then heading to my favorite online boutique or website and scrolling through every.single.thing.
I mean, I do enjoy the occasional trip to the mall, or even an afternoon downtown to visit the little shops we have here in Mckinney. B
UT (big ol'butt here) I absolutely love shopping from home. There are several key things
I've learned over the years that make shopping from home that much more enjoyable. Wanna hear them? Ok, here ya' go.
1. Set a budget.
Yah I went there. I had to. I mean, my husband might read this and he'd be wondering where all my common sense went to if I didn't throw this tip in there. No seriously, a budget is really important. When we go out shopping we are
far more conscious of how much money we have to spend than if we are shopping online. You know why? Because typically when we are shopping from home, we have our card numbers already saved to our favorite places, and all we have to do is click ORDER.
They make it soooo easy! We're also not carrying around a load of bags that exploit the sheer number of stores we've spent money at so we just aren't feeling the pain (or the embarrassment) of how much we've spent. If you set a budget for each store before you begin you will be better off. #trust
2. Not all online stores are created equal.
Be careful where you choose to give out your credit card. Are they a trusted site? What is their return policy? What kind of shipping options do they have?
3. Some (most) online sites have SO much more than they do in-store.
You'll often find tons of styles, sizes and colors online that they have never offered inside their brick and mortar store. Ever since the economy tanked
storefronts just don't carry a lot of size and color options like they used to. Go online to find options!
4. Sort and filter.
It can be overwhelming trying to shop online for clothes. There are hundreds and hundreds of pages of tops to get through...it will take days! Filter those tops to show only the color blue, and by only size Medium. Trust
me it'll make life that much easier!
5. Lurkers beware!
Make sure you have a safe spot for all those packages to get delivered to! There's nothing worse than coming home from work and finding out some A-hole has stolen your coveted pair of denim. :(
What are some tips and tricks you've got for me to make online shopping a better experience? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
XOXO
Alyssa
