One of my favorite pieces for Spring is a kimono. I love to wear them over a plain t-shirt or tank top, and for a date night I love to wear one over a silk camisole. Nothing shouts "Springtime here I am!!!" like a flowy kimono. I have made quite a collection over the last 10 years (yes 10 years!) and while I've gotten rid of some that didn't last as well as I'd hoped, I've held on to my favorites. I'm a fan of long and short styles, floral and prints, solid colors, and even different types of fabric. I love to pair them with a cute pair of jeans or some denim shorts. You can find this exact kimono here! Or in another color here!
A couple of tips for choosing one for yourself.
Sizing can be tricky.
I often find that retailers will sell kimonos as "one size fits all" (the flower one I'm wearing is a one size fits all!) - that's fine as long as it isn't crazy large. I bought one in the past that had me swimming in it and the arms just slid right off of me every time I moved. So before purchasing pay attention to the dimensions. *I've never had a kimono be too small so I'd always go with your true size or size down. You won't be wearing it over a sweater or even a long sleeved shirt, so keep that in mind when choosing a size.
Length is important.
There are really three common lengths for kimonos. Long (which a lot of retailers will refer to as a "duster" length - like "dusting" the floor). Mid-length which usually hits right around the hip area or a little longer depending on how short/tall you are! Short - sitting right at the waist. When I'm choosing a long kimono I am really careful because I am fairly short and if I get it too long, its dragging on the floor OR I'm forced to wear it with heels every time I want to wear it. Both Mid-Length and Short styles are a little more worry free in choosing the length - just be aware that short styles might look boxy if they are not cut at a flattering angle and then will end up not looking "flowy" like they should.

Fabric and Print.
Choosing a fabric that is super light and doesn't weigh you down is key. I'm a fan of very light-weight fabrics and floral prints. I pair them with a solid tank or cami underneath so the attention is on the kimono. If I wear a t-shirt underneath I always make sure it is a thin, lightweight fabric so it doesn't feel to "heavy". One of my favorite kimonos is my lace one from Vicicollection. It's one of the few kimonos I've purchased that isn't floral but because its got a lace design, its still lightweight and perfect for pairing over a tank.
